Assessment - Hero Shots

I really enjoyed doing this exercise.  It was great to use some of my own photos and a real challenge finding suitable images on the internet.  Here are my five examples:

LA9 Web Page Backgrounds

Using Method 2

LA9 Web Page Backgrounds

This first website of the WA Art Gallery had me intrigued as the information is right on the left hand edge of the website with a big grey strip down the right hand side.  I've included a screen shot of the background image.
I think the Comet Windmills website is very good.  The background and the foreground continue through each other.  It has the feel of looking through a window.  I especially love the landscape; makes me think of our travels through beautiful Australia.
Lemonthyme Lodge website has the ideal colour but its setup is dead boring.  If you look at the website yourself, the background page is a simple gradient of dark green to light green - repeated twice.
My favourite website is definitely Comet Windmills.  It's been thought out very well and it's very appealing to the viewer.

LA8 Green 2nd attempt

My interpretation of this Lesson appears to be very different to other students.  I decided on a poster style rather than an advertisement.  I haven't changed anything in the second layout although I've added one more thing.  I redid all the individual items.  On analysing the three formats at close detail, the gif format, at 0.98 MB was very noisy so that was eliminated immediately.  The png format was 3.6 MB and the jpg format was 1.13 MB.  Both of these formats were very good quality so I compared three pieces of the photo to determine the better quality photo.   The jpg, at one third of the size of the png format was my choice.

LA8 Green

This is my first attempt at creating a 'green' composition.
