Learning Activity 6 - White Space

Although the whitespace is actually blackspace, the impact is great in this first shot.  It has the effect of 'light at the end of the tunnel'.

This next example is from the video Patch Adams, one of my favourite stories.  The doctor's feet stand out in the whitespace so you look at his feet rather than his face.





This third example blows the rule of thirds out of the water - so to speak!  The sky and the water bring the viewers eyes to the middle of of the photo.  The white space is the sky and the water.
